Apple String Catalog is a file format introduced with Xcode 15 for storing localization data of Apple platform apps. It is a JSON-based format that keeps every language of an app in a single .xcstrings file, along with comments, plural forms, device variations and the translation state of each string.

Ruby on Rails YAML (YAML Ain't Markup Language) is a widely used file format for storing translations in Ruby on Rails applications. It is a simple, text-based format with an easy-to-understand syntax that supports a wide variety of data types.
