The Modi script, or Moḍī, is a historical script predominantly used for Marathi, the official language of Maharashtra, India. Originating in the 13th century, it became the primary script for administrative purposes during the Maratha Empire. Despite its decline in the 20th century, there are contemporary efforts to digitize the script. Many modern operating systems support Modi with appropriate font and input tool installations.
