Tagalog script, often known as Baybayin or Alibata, is a pre-colonial Philippine script predominantly used by the Tagalog people. Mainly employed to write the Tagalog language, it has historical ties to various Philippine ethnic groups. Modern computers and operating systems now support it through Unicode. The exact origins remain uncertain, but it's believed to have evolved from the Kawi script of Java, Indonesia.
