The Egyptian Hieratic script is a writing system primarily used by the ancient Egyptians, developed alongside the more familiar hieroglyphic script for administrative, literary, and religious texts. It was predominantly employed by the ancient Egyptian culture and was written in the Egyptian language. In terms of computer support, Unicode Consortium has encoded Hieratic script, making it possible to visualize it on modern systems and software. Its origin is as ancient as 3200 BCE, but there is no known single author or inventor of this script.
