The Dives Akuru script is a historical writing system from the Maldives, predominantly used for the Dhivehi language by Maldivian and Sinhalese cultures. It existed prior to its successor, the Thaana script, mainly in the domain of Buddhist monks until the 18th century. For computerized documentation, specialized software solutions or Unicode adaptations are needed.
