The Bamum script is an indigenous writing system created by King Njoya of the Bamum kingdom, in what is now Cameroon, in the late 19th to early 20th century. Initially logographic, it later evolved into a syllabary used to write the Bamum language. Though not extensively supported in modern computing platforms, it has Unicode representation, allowing for digital documentation and preservation of the Bamum language and culture.
